At around 4:30 a.m. on September 23rd, the "Istanbul Bridge" set sail from the Beilun Port Area of Ningbo Zhoushan Port, heading for the Felixstowe Port, the largest container port in the UK. This marks the official opening of the world's first China-Europe Arctic container express shipping route.
It is learned that the "Istanbul Bridge" completed a container loading operation of over 1,000 TEUs at the Beilun Port Area of Ningbo Zhoushan Port on September 22. The vessel will take the Northeast Passage through the Arctic to Europe, with a one-way transportation time of only 18 days to the Felixstowe Port. This is a new record for the transportation time of the China-Europe express shipping route after the 26-day "China-Europe Express" service to Wilhelmshaven, Germany, was launched at the end of 2024. The China-Europe Arctic Express is also an important practical achievement in the construction of the "Polar Silk Road" under the Belt and Road Initiative, providing a faster and more environmentally friendly international logistics option for China's high-end manufacturing, cross-border e-commerce, and new energy industries.
