The freight volume of inbound and outbound trains through the China-Europe Railway Express exceeded

Xinhua News Agency, Hohhot, October 15th (Reporter Halaina) - The reporter learned from the Hohhot Customs on the 15th that as of October 14th, since its operation in 2013, the freight volume of the China-Europe freight trains under the supervision of the Hohhot Customs and passing through the Erlianhot Port has exceeded 20 million tons, reaching 2057.2 million tons, and the number of trains has been nearly 21,000.

The Erlianhot Port is an important node in the joint construction of the "Belt and Road Initiative" and the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor. It is also the only entry-exit port for the China-Europe Railway Express. Currently, there are 74 operating routes, covering 10 countries and over 140 domestic and foreign cities or stations.

Zhang Jianwei, the deputy director of the Bayannur Customs Office, introduced that currently, the full container rate of outbound intermodal trains from Bayannur Port has reached 100%. The types of goods exported by the intermodal trains have been continuously upgraded. The proportion of high-value-added goods such as domestic automobiles, mechanical equipment, and electronic appliances has increased to over 40%. The intermodal train has become an important platform for "Made in China" products to go global.

Since the beginning of this year, the Hohhot Customs has strengthened its supervision and service. It has implemented a 7×24-hour appointment-based customs clearance service on a regular basis, ensuring "strict review and efficient release", to guarantee the safe customs clearance of the China-Europe Railway Express. It has also promoted the "railway rapid customs clearance" model to enhance the customs clearance efficiency and convenience of the China-Europe Railway Express. Currently, the Bayannur Customs handles an average of 12 inbound and outbound China-Europe Railway Expresses per day.
